DUO LEUNG
The spirited and eclectic brother-sister ensemble, Duo Leung ( Dr Theresa Leung - piano, Dr Peter Leung - saxophones), is passionate about making music and exploring the idiosyncrasies of the piano-saxophone combination. Believing that music is not just for the concert hall, and that music is for all, they seek to provide performances that are approachable, accessible and exciting, while maintaining a high, professional level of musical interpretation. Lovers of a diverse range of music, their repertoire includes contemporary music as well as transcriptions of works from the 18th-19th Centuries. From humble beginnings playing Christmas Carols together as children, Duo Leung has seen its career take off since its official formation in 2016. In 2017 they undertook a tour of the USA, including performance and teaching residencies at Indiana University, Bloomington (which involved a performance collaboration with the esteemed saxophonist, Prof. Otis Murphy) and the New England Conservatory, Boston. Duo Leung is currently ‘Artist-in-Residence’ at International Grammar School, Sydney, Australia.
